The bg26.2 Marathon Event

  • Course Description:

    • The Boston Marathon qualifying USATF certified course (13.1 mile loop) starts at the Bowling Green Ball Park and runs through historic downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky and the beautiful WKU campus. (Marathoners will run the course twice.) Runners will finish at the Bowling Green Ball Park. There will be a 6 hour time limit on the race. After 6 hours, participants must move to the sidewalks or extreme right side of the road. There will be cyclists on the course to assist runners when needed.​​

  • Certification: Marathon course is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The USATF Certification Number is KY13010TY​​

    • Awards are determined by gun times per USATF guidelines for all sanctioned events. Our timing company (3 Way Racing) insists to conform to the USATF regulations.
      • The exception will be that gun time will be used to determine overall male and female finishers, whereas chip time will be used to determine age group winners.
    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards to bg26.2 male & female finishers
    • Overall awards to:
      • Masters male & female (40-49)
      • Grandmasters male/female (50 and over)
      • Awards for 1st thru 3rd place age group winners
    • Age groups for the marathon are:
      • 16-19 | 20-24 | 25-29 | 30-34 | 35-39 | 40-44 | 45-49 | 50-54 | 55-59 | 60-69 | 70 & over
    • The minimum age requirement for the bg26.2 is 16 years old.

The bg6000 (5k + one more 'k')

 

  • The bg6000 is 6k race through downtown Bowling Green, or perhaps it’s a 5K with a bonus K at the end.

  • No matter how you look at it, the bg6000 presents a unique and fun challenge.

    • The bg6000 course starts the same place as the marathon and half marathon, and runs the same route until you reach Steamers on State Street. Turn left and follow E 8th Ave to the finish line!

  • Start time for the bg6000 is 7:30 a.m. Central Time.

  • Awards:

    • 1st place award to bg6000 overall male/female finishers

    • Age group awards to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male/female:

The MS Walk

 

  • The Walk MS is a 1 mile walk being held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 @ the National Corvette Museum parking lot.

  • MS Walk is heading into its 3rd year! 

 

bgKids Fun Run

  • On Sunday, November 7, 2021, the bg26.2 & half marathon is hosting a Kids Only Run (bgKIDS 26.2) in conjunction with the bg26.2 & half marathon. This event will start and finish at the Bowling Green Ballpark. Each child will need to have walked, run or wheel-chaired 25 miles by race day to be able to participate!!
