COVID-19 FAQ

Registration Closes October 15th

COVID-19 and the bg26.2

August 21, 2020 marks the 15th anniversary of Susan Riherd’s passing. It was in her memory that in 2012, the bg26.2 & half marathon was formed. This November would have been the bg26.2 & half marathon’s 9th running. However, despite our efforts to design a plan to keep our runners and volunteers safe, and collaborating with the local authorizing agencies, we were unable to secure the necessary permits to go forward with this year’s event in person. We still will offer the full, half and bg6000 as virtual events.

We have updated our registration page to offer only virtual events and will contact all those individuals who have already registered with options of either deferring to 2021 or run it virtually. While this is heartbreaking for all involved, we are committed to upholding the guidelines placed by the CDC, the City of Bowling Green and the State of Kentucky.

Thanks again to the running community of Bowling Green and all our other followers for making the bg26.2 & half marathon such a success.  We will rock it in year #10!!
